Stan Pitt Award 2022
Stan Pitt Community Award 2022
Parish recognises and honours resident who stands out from the crowd.
This year we had 3 nominations, all of them are an absolute credit to the parish.
We had 2 winners. Our winners were Sandra Stafford, for the outstanding support she gives to the elderly of the village, her food bank collections and work to support the village hall together with Chris Whitby and Eleanor Graff-Baker, who were nominated as a couple, for all the work they do for Peckleton Church and village hall, village events, the newsletter and other voluntary roles around the village. They are pictured below with our other finalist Ann Lloyd, nominated for her sterling work as a stalwart of the Methodist Chapel, helping to run it, hosting events and supporting her neighbours.
The Stan Pitt Community Award is an annual event to recognise and publicly thank those who have voluntarily improved the quality of life within the villages of Kirkby Mallory, Peckleton and Stapleton. Each of the community's benefit from those who put so much effort in to local groups and activities and the Parish Council wants to acknowledge and support their contributions.
The award was presented at the Parish's Annual Meeting on 28th April.
Pictured, left to right, are Cllr Angela Porter, Ann Lloyd, Sandra Stafford, Luke Evans MP, who presented the awards, Eleanor Graff—Baker, Chris Whitby, Cllr Peter Chick and Sally Sharpling, daughter of Stan Pitt, who presented the flowers.
